I recently ordered some hayfever alternatives from www.chemistdirect.co.uk and I can say the service was spot on.
Delivery was within a couple of days and the goods were reasonably packaged in Jiffy bags.
I've stopped sniffling and crying so assume the product is spot on aswell.
My local small chemist sells a box of 30 Cetirizine Tablets for £2.99. Plain white and yellow box with Cetirizine named across. Can buy as many as you want!!!
Has anyone used the gadget that shines a light into your nostrils? It sounds awfully weird, but since I have a bad reaction to steroid nasal sprays like Beconase and Nasonex, I'd love a non-drug treatment for my year round hay fever.

The best thing for hayfever is to take pollen grains or tablets. You can buy a jar of grains for about £5 (melt a teaspoon with hot water and add OJ then drink) tablets are a lot more straight forward cost about £4 a pack. This will as good as cure your hayfever meaning you never have to take hayfever tablets again! Ask in any health food store, it really works!

Erm. Sorry but this may be the best thing for some people's hayfever.
Didn't work for me and certainly didn't "cure" my hayfever. In fact the pollen tablets didn't have any effect for me. Appreciate it does work for some though.

Interesting points raised in this forum - but please try your local independent pharmacy as very often you can find excellent prices PLUS the advice and personal knowledge that they can give. This is as valuable as simply saving money - health is not just a commodity after all. Must declare an interest here as I work in local pharmacies and can see effects at first hand!
A couple of weeks ago i got 2 x 30 packs of Asda's generic Loratadine for £5, although i'm not sure if that was at time limited offer - making them about 8p each! You have to get them over the counter from one of their pharmacies though.
A natural hayfever remedy: get some honey from local bees and have 1-2 spoonfuls a day (either straight off the spoon or added to something else). This helps build up natural resistance to the pollen in your area, which is why the honey has to be local - you can buy from farmshops or similar.
It's worth mentioning that the allergy spray flixonase that was mentioned in the article is licensed to treat all the hayfever symptoms (blocked nose, itchy throat, irritated eyes) not just nasal congestion. so it could be used instead of tablets rather than in addition to as the article suggested.
beconase isn't licensed to treat all the symptoms, just the runny nose, although in theory it should actually help them all. this one is available 'unbranded' just like the hayfever tablets, in which case it's known as beclometasone nasal spray.
Hi my local Tesco Pharmacy is selling Galpharm Loratadine Non drowsy tabs 87p for 30 one-a-day, bargain for the end of the season, dont expire till Dec 2009
(shop own brand is 87p for 7tabs on main shelf)
Ordered Cetirizine tablets from Chemist Direct on Sunday and they arrived this morning. Good service - and tablets have an Expiry of Nov 2008 - so they are good for next summer too! Seem just as good as Chemist 4u in my opinion.

have you checked out the possibility of allergies to food ? I had year round hay fever until I discovered I was allergic to cheese (a roll of kitchen paper every other day and constant sneezing). Chat with homeopath and the misery and suffering have not occurred since and I can still eat cheese.
Chemist direct are still doing 30 Cetirizine for 99p, max order is now 8 packets. Total cost inc P&P is £10.87 or 4.53p per tablet.
