A mild solution of vinegar and water should do the trick. Remember to let the vinegar do the work and just dab. I would sprinkle bicarb of soda on it and let it absorb the stain and then vacuum it off."This site is addictive!"

I've now tried :-
Vanish Carpet Stain Remover
Washing powder
Bicarbonate Of Soda
Vinegar
It won't shift. Any other ideas?:(0 -
Try vanish powershot. Not very environmentally friendly, or money saving, but it works! (At least it has done for me - it removed some old car oil stains from my stair carpet). You should be able to get it from a supermarket.0

how about a solution of bio washing powder & warm water, & sponge it clean. This works on sick stains !0
