I have 2 trout fillets in the fridge for dinner tonight but h2b doesn't feel well and doesn't want his. They expire tmrw so rather than freeze them I was thinking about cooking both and taking one for my lunch tmrw. I'd be putting it in the fridge over night and having it cold with salad, would this be ok? Having only bought it twive have no idea about eating it cold!

Make sure you keep it somewhere cool if there's no fridge at work and you should be fine.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. I'd cook it and have it for lunch tommorrow, it'll be lovely either with a salad or break it up and pop it in a pitta bread.0

I have a full rainbow trout & I really do not fancy having it the way we normally do.
We normally just add butter inside & wrap in foil.
Any ideas that you have tried out?
I'm looking to cook it on Monday.

You can season it and cook it in a frying pan or griddle for about 4-6 mins either side. Or you can steam it with or without a foil pouch for about 20-30 mins depending on size. You can stuff it with dill and or chopped fennel and lemon wedges. You can also add white wine and lemon juice to a foil pouch and bake or steam.TL0
