Mouldy Shower

Options
My daughter has just emailed me from Uni to say her shower is all mouldy. Now I know this is going to have something to do with vinegar, but advice about quantities etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think you might do better with bleach and bicarbonate of soda mixed into a paste - spread on mouldy areas - left for a few hours then cleaned off.

The most effective thing I have found if the mould is really bad, is thick bleach - if need be, applied with an old toothbrush. Leave to soak for a while, then rinse off.
It stinks, so make sure the window is open & don't breathe in too much of the fumes if you can help it.
  • Thanks for all the tips, she put thick bleach on it, left it for a few hours and then scrubbed it off. No more mould! :j

If anyone's around, I have an unventilated tiny shower room (no window). The shoulder tray is yellowing and has black mould/mildew on the grouting at foot level. I need a product that doesn't kill me (preferably). Not sure about neat bleach in that small, confined space but stardrops has failed miserably. The bathroom has an extractor of uncertain vintage (lots of dust). Any suggestions?
    cheers

Vinegar. Neat if it won't run off, made into a paste with bicarb otherwise.

I'm not sure what you can do about the yellowing, sorry.
