free elastic bands from marigolds!

Options
sorry if this has been posted before, but ive just had a neighbour come round to trade some of their cale they grew for some of my rhubarb from my allotment.. she wet herself laughing when i produced a "elasic band" made from cut up old marigold rubber gloves.

I get different sized bands from them small ones from fingers and larger ones from cuff.. great for holding bunches of flowers together etc.

she said i was tight, just wondered if anyone else did this? or am i really tight?

    hi,
If you want cheap (free) rubber bands, just walk along the road after the postman has been. There's no wonder the price of stamps keeps going up!!!!!! We should have a competition to see who can collect the most.

Or just do what I do and wait for your kitten to bring the discarded postman ones in through the cat flap....he thinks he's being so brave fighting all these "laccy bands".....bless him the MSE way rubs off on to everything!

My postman usually just leaves the band on the last set of letters that he posts. Since I live in the last house on a dead end lane I've had an endless supply :)

Spring onions in Asda are sold held by small rubber bands too.

I don't use many these days, I must admit, so I'm never going to run out of freebies. :)

i use the ones the post man now kindly leaves on my door step for me, i make hair extensions and wigs and they are really useful for holding things together while im making.

My best free eleastic bands are from the rolled ends of unused condoms. i got about 100-250 from the FP clinic (do they think im a rabbit) and i snipped the ends off and used for all sorts or things.. like tying my hair up.

    shameful but ingenious.
