crusty jeans

Hope this is the right place to post. My son hates certain textures and one of those is that crusty stiff feeling you get from newly washed jeans. What can I add to the wash to make them come out soft? Is it possible (if it is I bet someone here knows how)

And iron them to death while they're still damp.0

the only way mine stay soft is by tumble drying them. Saves having to iron them too:)Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

Well I've just started using vinegar instead of fc so maybe next time I wash them I'll see a difference. I don't have a tumble dryer so that's a non starter. Ironing hmmm suppose I could try that, the only things that get ironed in this house are school uniforms and husband does that: he saw my efforts and said they weren't up to standard (I realised I'd made a huge mistake on the cooking/ cleaning/ washing front when he said that because he's quite happy for me to do all of those things). In my view by not ironing I save electricity and therefore I'm saving the environment : crumples are environmentally friendly!0

My attitude is why bother to iron when they either get crumpled when you wear them anyway, or the creases drop out with body heat
I don't even do school uniforms anymore as I hang them up straight from the washer and cheat by buying the teflon trousers and non-iron shirts
I honestly can't remember the last time I used an iron, several years ago think... although I did teach my boys how to use it if they wanted something pressed
Long gone are the days I would iron everything ... including sheets and towels!!!!!"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

I've gone the other way, when my kids were little they didn't realise an iron could be hot! Now I iron every weekend, mostly because I wear stuff that looks better ironed for work. I do feel it's a waste of time but (how sad is this?) I like to see piles of clean clothes turn into piles of ironing.0
