That's just what silver does I'm afraid!
I use an 'Electrolytic Cleaning Plate' that I got from the Lakeland shop years ago. The gunge just falls off with no rubbing so no wear and tear on the item. There is a way of doing the same thing with tinfoil but I cant remember how it goes.....no doubt someone on here will be able to explain it

Dissolve some soda crystals in water, pour into a small dish that you've lined with tin foil. Plonk the jewellery in. You can practically see the grime lifting off

Saw that on Kim and Aggie about a year ago

The best way to clean tarnished silver is to wear it, it'll be sparkling in a day or 2;)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

My mother taught me this years ago for cleaning silver and gold:
take a piece of soft white bread, put the chain in it, rub between your hands. It works and best of all no chemicals!0 -

smother it in toothpaste, normal stuff not stripey or gel toothpaste, leave for an hour then wash off. It works, i did it on a silver neclace I have with a diamond in the pendant.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
