That's just what silver does I'm afraid!

I use an 'Electrolytic Cleaning Plate' that I got from the Lakeland shop years ago. The gunge just falls off with no rubbing so no wear and tear on the item. There is a way of doing the same thing with tinfoil but I cant remember how it goes.....no doubt someone on here will be able to explain it :D

Dissolve some soda crystals in water, pour into a small dish that you've lined with tin foil. Plonk the jewellery in. You can practically see the grime lifting off :D

Saw that on Kim and Aggie about a year ago :D

The best way to clean tarnished silver is to wear it, it'll be sparkling in a day or 2;)

My mother taught me this years ago for cleaning silver and gold:

take a piece of soft white bread, put the chain in it, rub between your hands. It works and best of all no chemicals!

smother it in toothpaste, normal stuff not stripey or gel toothpaste, leave for an hour then wash off. It works, i did it on a silver neclace I have with a diamond in the pendant.
