reduce fat in baking

You can substitute up to 50% apple sauce or fruit puree in place of oil when you bake to reduce fat content, i.e. 8 oz fat or oil called in recipe, use 4 ounces of apple sauce

This works particularly well for fruit cakes. Just make sure your puree isn't made up of just prunes0

Where can you buy apple sauce here? I used that trick all the time in America but haven't found it since I moved here.0

is with ketchup and things in supermarkets, with branston etc. hope that helps you.0

get some baking apples peel and core them add a good two palmfuls of sugar and a tablespoon of water
boil then simmer till its nice and thick and creamy
apple sauce !!0
