How can I treat my teak garden furniture?

Options
We have a set of teak garden furniture. And I am in the process of using the pressure washer on it, to remove the huge amounts of dirt.
I do this every year and then I apply what seems like bucketloads of teak oil.
Within a relatively short space of time it looks plain awful again. Anyone have any other suggestions.
Thanks
Lisa

The trouble with this is the varnish evenually splits and comes off with the movment and nature of the wood and then its hells only job to get it back off again .

what the OP is doing at the mo is the only way I know.

I just use teak oil twice a year (start & end of sunshine) I've never needed to use water on it, apart from removing the odd bit of bird poop. How long do you leave it to dry before you put the oil on?

Yes - it has to be completely dry before you apply anything.

How do you apply the teak oil? I would use fine grade wire wool to "cut" the oil into the wood. Apply 3, 4 or more coats, wipe off the excess immediately and leave each coat to dry before applying another. This ought to build up to a surface that's pretty near waterproof.
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)
