What's the deal?
This nifty site has free printable subway maps for cities all around the world (Europe, America, Australia, Africa, Asia & Middle East) including Barcelona, NYC, Sydney, Cairo and Hong Kong. Perfect for finding your way from the airport to your hotel without getting ripped off by expensive tourist taxis before you've found your feet in a new place.
How to get your map
To get your map, simply go to the Amadeus site, click on your chosen continent and then choose your the city you are visiting from the drop down menu. You'll then be taken to the page with the map on it and you can chose to either print a PDF version (you need Adobe Acrobat for this) or a Word version.

Thanks, Martin. We're going to Paris on Saturday so this should come in very handy. This space has been intentionally left blank0

This is a similar site, with the added bonus of giving the history and other information about the underground systems.
http://www.urbanrail.de/index.htmlWhat part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
The two Aussie maps are not of much use very little detail, London one is OK, Berlin is OK too, what the rest are like I cannot comment.

Looks good, but dig a little deeper and all is not what it seems.
It seems this company has drawn their own maps (to get out of copyright restrictions). So they all look a bit odd - the London tube map is almost unrecognisable, because the stations aren't in the positions you'd expect them to be in relation to eachother.
My advice is google the city's name and the word subway or transport map, and more often than not, you'll get the city's official transport network's website IN ENGLISH!
You can get the Paris one here http://www.ratp.info/informer/anglais/index.php#0 -
Many thanks for this, we're off to Prague for the first time tomorrow, so it'll be a really good starting point.....and Happy 4th Birthday! :bdaycake:0

Those look good Martin, but for those of us who are more gadget-endowed then I can thoroughly recommend the free "Metro" program for PDAs and Smartphones.
Its available from http://www.nanika.net/Metro/ and has info on almost all the subway systems in the world - some of them in great detail and with a little bit of tourist information too.
