Do you keep ones of these either mentally or write it down.
I know that I keep one in one in my head. Might be better to write it down. But I know how much I will pay for certain things.
e.g
Branded Tuna 38p a tin
Branded Loo rolls 23p a roll
I wait as I know there are always sales on tuna and toilet roll.
Do you have things that you will only pay a certain amount for.

I have a list for my toiletries because I am a snob and use brand names. Don't worry I use own brand or economy for everything else.
Dove deoderant is 1.29 in Morrisons, 1.09 in Wilkinsons, and 99p in Savers. But it is often on 3 for 2 in Morrisons which works out at 86p each.
Always Ultra and Tampax is the same price EVERYWHERE. Does the government fix the price or something? So unless they are on offer I buy from Boots as the points means I get a 4% discount, more if I buy in bulk and get extra points from the machine for spending over a tenner.
Tesco's price watch is great. But it doesn't include Wilkinsons, Savers or Pound Shops.

This is interesting, I never knew about cheaper branded goods until I was in Savers and noticed the price difference. Also my mum bought some branded bleach in Poundstretchers the other day, they were on bogof at 95p which works out cheap for 2 bottles.
I dont think Tesco price check includes bogofs and special offers. So although they might give a price for Morrisons it could be on bogof there but you wouldnt know.
I would like to do a price book but I'm not organised enough.
Would be interested in other price differences as I dont usually go to Wilkinsons as it is in town and only just discovered the delights of Poundstretchers!“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -
Personally I don't think that Poundstretchers are very cheap I think they are more expensive in most cases.
But then it might just have been the local one to me.
Now poundland is a different kettle of fish. I have a choice of either Weston-super-mud opps sorry Mare or Swindon.
I want one in Bath
Either way they are miles away. We sometimes have a day out to w-s-m and always check out the poundland and TJ hughes they have some bargain skin care and perfumes.

I've never been to Poundland, is it in the main shopping centre in WSM and how does it differ to Poundstretcher. Never heard of T J Hughes, I want a Netto but there are none near Bristol either!“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Fixture Ferrets always lets you know whats on offer.

Check the dates though. Morrisons had a big promotional change over yesterday for tolletries and they are not on the FF yet.0 -
Gloucester must be filled with us tightwads then as we have a Poundland, Poundstretcher, Wilko's, don't have a Saver though, but our local Superdrug does a lot of BOGOF's and special offers.
We also have an Aldi and a Lidl, and a Matalan. We don't have a Morrisons although I haven't checked out the Safeway since they got taken over by them so I must take a trip soon.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -
Heh, Leicester must be filled with Tightwads as well. We have several of each including Morrisons.
Edit - Poundland is a store that you won't or shouldn't find anything for over a pound. Every now and again they bring something out for a fiver if you spend ten quid. But as a general rule of thumb Poundland = Everything for a £1.
Poundstretcher - sells things at cheap prices, you need to check with other cheap stores because they can be more expensive than the rest. Branded chocolate bars in there for instance are at Newsagent in the middle of nowhere or London prices.0 -
Thanks for that Raeble, oh well I must have been lucky with my buys in Poundstretcher. I bought my husband a coat for £7 (half price) and 2 dressing gowns for my daughter for £2.50 each but I expect you're talking about the other household stuff that they do. I noticed Adidas shower gel at half price the other day, but it was on an end, I didnt check prices of other things.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

I did get my mini greenhouse in Poundstretcher for £12 which was a quid cheaper than the cheapest alternative.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Tiff,
Poundland is up the far end by the winter gardens. They are on the right hand side before you get to Argos at the top of town.
As the name suggests everything is a pound. Last time I went in March they had Nescafe frothy coffee £1 a box normally else where a £1.99. But it only had about two months left on in date.
They have batteries, smellies, DVD's, DIY stuff. Almost all the hair care and bubble bath is brand names. And it is cheaper than in most other shops. So this where a price book comes in handy
And they have a small selection of cakes and biscuits and hot drinks stuff.
It is a very small shop but is crowded with people.
TJ hughes I never saw until I went to wsm. They are down by the job centre so the opposite direction to the main shopping center. it is a dept. store as they have 3 levels including a cafe. Not everything is cheap. I picked up some almay Kinetin Skin care for a £1 a box and they ones that do the handcream for the northsea fishing men face products for a £1.50 I think.
Here is there website.

Another place I would like to see locally is a homebargains
http://www.homebargains.co.uk
They do have some really good bargains but alas they are on in the midlands, north and northeast of the uk.
Shame that halfpriceorless shut down there web site. You could get loads of stuff. I bought Aussie condioner for 99p a bottle. You did have to have pay about £3.95 p+P but you get two or three huge boxes for that price. Even bought my freeplay radio from them for about £30.
Also are you close to longwell green as they have a hypervalue as they do have some cheapstuff there. Like imperial leather soap 5 for a £1.
And they have what! next door. Shame I have moved away now.
Yours
