oooh, easier than holding over steam in kettle. and for stamps that have been franked, local blind home make money from them round here.0

For years now, when I open the post at work I save the un-franked stamps, and put them in a cup of boiling water for a few mins. The stamps then come straight off the envelope, and I dry them out on a saucer.
The franked stamps are always sent to a local charity. Everyone benefits!:j0 -
I just get a saucer and put a bit of water in it, put the stamp in, picture side up and leave for a minute or two - peels off lovely!0

I didn't think stamps were worth anything to charities if they weren't still attached to the envelope? I thought they had to have something like 1.5 inches each side to be worth anything?
Or so it said in the Reader's Digest long ago!
Does anyone know what charities still accept stamps? Most don't seem to any more. Amnesty International still did the last time I checked but that was about it. I'd be glad to hear of more.
Although I've just found this page which might answer the question for me!0 -
yep but if there is nothing local, try blind homes and hospices near you.0

the "make cathy a rich lady" fund accepts full sheets of first and second class stamps
preferably without any perforations or the queens head facing the wrong way
