UK's only free computer magazine for home users. Published every month, we are written by professional journalists and aim to be the essential read for all PC users.
Our PC magazine is distributed electronically in unprotected PDF format. What does that mean? It means that all you need is Adobe Acrobat Reader v.6 or above (also free) to view the magazine and it means that we can design a completely unique magazine and take advantage of the benefits of electronic publishing, like live feedback and animated and even interactive graphics - have you ever seen a Windows tutorial before where you can play with a simualtion of the Control Panel from within the magazine page?

Having scoured their FAQ page and even their 'cynics' page lol- it would appear not.
"It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

Hi
Just spotted this thread. Yes, we're free; yes we're legit (glad someone enjoyed the Cynics page); yes, we have advertising from, among others, Dell Outlet and Mesh. Erm, that's the point. The magazine is funded by ad revenue. It doesn't mean they influence the magazine editorial though - please read the FAQ on our editorial policy.
Incidentally, this post referred users to issue 4, but issue 5 was published last week:

Glad people are enjoying it.

Thanks for this.
Also, past issues of PCPlus magazine are available to download free at
http://www.pcplus.co.uk/pdf/
Whilst the publisher used to post issues about a year after publication, they are now about 16 months behind. Still, the world of PC software hasn't moved forward that much in the last few years. Many of the tips about tuning and maintaining Windows XP are still relevant. Those running older systems such as NT or Windows 98 can find articles from the older issues.
PCPlus is quite technically geared, with many tutorials on computer programming. What may be of wider interest are the tips and tutorials on using popular software such as Word and Excel, which I find to be very useful.0
