Asda now have a promotion that is running this week only I believe.
Any Australian with is 25% off and if you buy 6 you get an extra 10% off on top so you can grab yourself a real bargain if you have some coupons.

Asda have an ok selection, but, if you check out one of their big Wall Mart stores, you can find some real gems waiting.

I WAS EVEN CLEVERER !!!!!!!
Noticed that the advertising for this says ALL Australian wines - 25% reduced.
However it appears that they had ONLY reduced the shelf tickets for the REDS and the WHITES.
Bagged 6 bottles including an AUSTRALIAN ROSE "at full price"
Sure enough - it went through without a 25% reduction.

ASDA e-mailed me offering free delivery with first order over £50, so checked out the 25% offer on Australian. They have an Australian Red @ £1.99 and an Australian White @ £2.07 with a further 10% off if you buy more than 6 bottles!
So I ordered the following
Australian Red 14 £27.86
Australian White 14 £28.98
subtotal £56.84
total discount -£5.68
delivery £4.25*
estimated total £55.41
*refunded after 7 days
Which works out at £1.82 per bottle
Delivery is tomorrow afternoon so will return with an update.

Hi
ASDA Have just delivered my wine, however, they had neither the RED or the WHITE that I had ordered and both were substituted for a superior wine at NO EXTRA EXPENSE.
The wine arrived in carrier bags - 10 of them, and it was quite a comical sight with the lady trying to explain that I wouldn't be charged any extra and that I could return them if I wanted.
I didn't want to accept them until I had tested the wine and the women was saying 'no ones ever done this before'.
So we tested the Banrock Station Dry Red and the Andrew Peace 'Mighty Murray' White and both were acceptable.
Oh! and on the receipt is a hand written note which said 'will actually be charged the amount on the internet; with the wine that has been subbed, the customer has actually gained £21.09 worth of wine'.
Methinks I should place another order.....quick!

Went to Asda Rooley Lane, Bradford, they had box of Asda's own Australian red wine, 13.5%, reduced to £7.62, thats £1.90 per bottle! Bought the last two, is very very nice.0

Asda is selling Wolfblass yellow label Cab/Sav for 3.99 (even less if you buy 6 bottles), it says they were reduced from 5.99, but this wine usually sells for £7-8 a bottle! and it is very nice....Tesco are selling this at 5.19 a bottle after their 35% discount.0

So, I took the plunge, registered with Asda Home Shopping and ordered online (the prices are the same as instore). There were no time slots available for delivery on Saturday 24th or Sunday 25th, so I plumped for the Tuesday 27th.
All the wine came, with some unwanted substitutions, and I'd been charged £55 more because the offer FINISHED ON THE 24TH and they only show provisional prices online, the price you pay is the price on the day of delivery.
I've contacted customer services, and they referred me to the home shopping manager of the store, who then got head office to ring back. Head office aren't budging, it's happened to a lot of people apparently... (Do they wear these things as a badge of CS honour?).. So I'm one unhappy pappy.
Wish Watchdog was back on air! I feel it wrong that they can sell goods at prices when there are no delivery slots are available to honour them.0 -
It's a shame that you accepted the wine. You could have declined it and they would have had to honour your decision.
Is it possible for you to return the wine to your local store and get a refund??
