I started getting a lot of spam, nothing really offensive - just annoying.
I opened a free e-mail account on line, changed my own e-mail address very slightly (from fred@****.com to freds@****.com), Sent an e-mail to all those I trusted telling them of the change. Then set up a divert so that every thing to fred@****.com went straight to the new account. I check that account occasionally to see if there is anyone I have missed. The new account deletes everything after a month.
Hope you followed that !

I've used rules in the past and it's not a particularly good solution.

I've never clicked on an unsubscribe.

I have joined loads of gambling web sites over the last year whilst bookie and casino bonus bagging. I reckon my details have been leaked from one of them.

I spent a few hours on my new plan last night. Each website has been allocated a different contact email. Each email address then forwards to one of several header accounts . If I start to receive junk on one address I can then trace the source of the leak and update one email address and it'll all be sorted.
Happy chappy

yahoo's pretty good at filtering spam. However you do have to check junk as some real mail ends up in there occasionally.
