Hi, any help would be apprieciated please!
2 days ago I sold an item on ebay via Buy It Now. The buyer has just emailed me to ask if I can cancel her purchase as she no longer wants it.
Surely I will be out of pocket if I do this as I will still have to pay ebay fees?
What would you do?

See the thread on this forum entitled 'buyer mistake' as it looks like the idiot buyers are out in force this weekend.
I'm sure someone can do a proper link for you, but all the advice you need is on there.
To hammer home one point though, do not under any circumstances do a mutual claim for FVFs...the buyer can wreck that for you as well.

Yep, I would. That way you are guaranteed to get your final value fees back and the buyer gets a NPB strike on their account. If they are a newbie they might be very close to losing their account as well.

If this happened to me the outcome or what I would do about it would depend on four questions:
1. How much the fees/item cost in the first place
2. If it would resell easy
3. If the 'buyer' sounded genuine and apologised or gave a good tale of the cat bid on the item!
4. What sort of mood I am in at the time!
But failing those questions I would do an NPBWeight Loss - 102lb0 -
I agree with hjb, other thing is to ask them to cover your fees (inc paypal) if they don't accept this with alacrity then just do the NPB.0
