Just been to asda in Washington, Tyne and wear. I took my granda to do some shopping and we parked in one of at least 25 unoccupied disabled parking bays as its a thursday night. It was pouring with rain and I was too busy helping my 86 year old granda into asda out of the rain to display his blue disable badge. I had the badge in the side of my door but forgot to display it. I was in Asda about 20 mins and came back to find a ticket, the ticket was issued at 6:53pm and my car clock said 6:54pm so I must have just missed the parking man. I looked around and couldnt see a uniformed person to say "look, here is my badge!". I phoned Asda's manager when I got home and they said that the security company doing this are right tw*%s! Its frustrating to know that whoever gave me the ticket was probably watching me get back to the car with my elderly granda.
Anyway after seeking advice from mates, some said dont pay it and check out this website.
I will post a pic of my ticket with my registration blanked out once someone has replied because my first post doesnt allow images. On the back of the ticket it says failure to pay will result in the debt being passed onto debt collectors.

Don't worry about it and don't pay it. Spend a few hours reading all the threads on here about ppc's and check out the thread which tells you what type of letters you will get.
You have done nothing wrong or illegal. Just totally ignore the begging letters what you will receive and if you feel you are waining just get back here for confirmation that nothing will happen.
How much is that the scum will not be pocketing now? eheheh0 -
Here is a link to my ticket, as I am a new user it wont allow me to post an image or correct link. please put http:// in front of the following img13.imageshack.us/img13/179/img001cl.jpg
They wanted £50 if I paid in 14 days and then £100 afterwards. It says on the back of the ticket if I dont pay it will go to debt collectors and thats what scares me as I dont want my credit rating hurt.0 -
Don't bother to post the ticket up as its only from a private parking company. Look on it as an unrequested invoice or a begging letter. They will not take you to court and debt collectors have as much power to demand money as I have.
Do not contact them.
Do not appeal, no-one ever wins an appeal.
Do not reply to any mail.
In fact totally ignore them.
Take a wander through the many posts on here about private parking company's, hereafter known as PPC's
If you want you could complain in writing to asda but its usually a waste of stamp. you will get 5-6 letters of varying nastiness but all are toothless, they have even been known to send photocopies of blank court papers to frighten you into paying. If you feel too intimidated come back and people will bolster your strength to ignore them.
This info only applies to ppc's and not council/police tickets--they must always be dealt with and never ignored.

1. They issue a court claim.
2. They win.
3. You don't pay within 28 days of the judgement.
The chances of any of the above happening are infinitissimal. Just ignore and worry about the important things in life.0 -
Just to add a couple of points. It's not a fine, and blue badges have no relevance in private car parks. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

It was an Asda car park I beleived but its actually owned by the Galleries (shopping centre) I think. The letterhead says "A/Covert security services ltd", it seems like a PPC as you say and not council or police.
I wont pay and will ignore them. Thanks for everybody's help it has eased my worries.0 -

Just be aware too that there is no "debt", all you have received is an invoice which is made to look like an official fine. You are not in debt to anyone for parking your car where you did.
Follow the advice thats already been posted on this thread and just ignore the ticket and any further letters you receive, no matter how threatening they are. After a few letters threatening legal action they will eventually give up. These private parking companies are a total joke, they only make money from frightening people into paying up.0 -
I know its a PPC, but couldn't you have put the badge in the window before you got out the car?I used to be me !! what happened0

The OP has already stated the reason for forgetting to put the badge in the window. But what difference does it make anyway, the invoice is unenforceable and as trisontana has already pointed out the blue badges have no relevance in private car parks.0 -

Do you have difficulty in reading. He has already explained it.
I know the car park and the disabled spaces are right next to the shop, the other spaces are a brisk walk away and part of it is up hill. I am happy to park there but I do not have an Octogenerian with me. He did the right thing and should not have to pay for it."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."
"I could play all day in my Green Cathedral".
"The Centuries that divide me shall be undone."
"A dream? Really, Doctor. You'll be consulting the entrails of a sheep next. "0
