Probably just a temporary problem with your ISP's mail server.0 -
This is indeed spooky. After being on talktalk for weeks, I finally got round to setting up outlook tonight.
I too am having trouble; outlook can't find the incoming pop3 server mail.talktalk.net
I came to the techie forum and the first thread I saw was this one.
It look like there's a general temporary problem...hopefully.
cheersApparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0 -
I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but I am hearing many people complain about the "service" (if you can all it that) this company is giving. Talk Talk seems to be delivering bad service all round. I can only hope it improves for you all. Some tales of woe I have heard defy belief.

Earlier today, I read an identical post on another message board, now aint that strange. I informed that post that I'd never been able to access my email on TT, so I was glad I'd sent up an account with yahoo months ago. I did this because I'd changes ISP's a few times and each time I changed, I lost their respective email accounts. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I use talk talk and there is only one way to describe their service-terrible! and that is being nice.
My email is always down and there is no point ringing in, you speak to someone who doesnt speak english or understand what your saying and you pay premium rate for the pleasure.
only 14 months left to run though . . . .0 -

A lot of people seem to agree with you.

It's been fine for me (apart from problem described above). Email is obviously important but I really don't care as I've had hotmail for years.
The cost is excellent: £21p.m. all in for phone and b/band.
People tend not to comment when they're broadly content so the negative comments are usually not representative.
I've yet to find a perfect ISP.
Perhasp we should set up a poll to determine the consensus. Anyone know how to do that?Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0 -
