Delay with landlords insurance leading to loss of income

Hello,
I'm hoping for some advice. I'm not a property tychoon, I just have one I've tried to go through the details step by step, hope it makes sense.
I have a landlords policy with Endsleigh and am not a happy customer. I rent the house as a houseshare with each room let individually.
I claimed on my insurance at the end of October following the tenant reporting a damp patch and being advised from builder it was storm damage to the roof.
Endleigh appointed a firm called SSG to look into the claim. They came out quicky for a brief inspection. I was advised a roof inspection was needed and this would be done asap.
Tenant gave notice due to damp patch, emailed Endsleigh to inform the matter was now even more urgant as it was going to impact on my income and therefore my ability to keep mortgage payments.
Didn't hear from Endsleigh or SSG for two weeks, so called Endsleigh, they said they'd not heard from SSG. I chased SSG who claimed they had wrote to me. They emailed a copy of the letter - it said the leak was due to wear and tear.
Challenged Endsleigh, as couldn't see how this could be decided without a roof inspection.
Endsleigh asked SSG to do a roof report. With lots of calls not returned during this stage.
Endsleigh said the roof report had been completed and my claim was declined. Neither myself or the tenants were aware of any roof inspection taking place.
Complained to Endsleigh, they replied, didn't really address any of my issues, but said they'd pass it on to a loss adjuster.
Loss adjuster agreed it's a claim and has appointed a builder. (although still awaiting for him to start work)
All in all this has caused me loss of income for half of November, December, January and this month. I've tried to rent the room, but no one will move in with a huge damp patch. I've even tried to mitigate the loss by offering a reduced rent until the work is complete. This still hasn't worked. So far, this is £1000 loss of income. That's over a months mortgage!!!! I am now in arrears with the mortgage because i'm not at the full capacity.
Does anyone know if I can apply for this loss of earning? And if so, is there anything I should refer to? Any useful phrases etc?
Thanks in advance.

Most landlord policies include cover for "Loss of Rental Income" following a valid claim, this should fall under this section of the policy and will be part of the same claim so would not normally be classed as a seperate claim.
They will obviously want you to substantiate the claim by showing the tenancy agreement and notice letters etc.
Ring the loss adjuster and advise him you want to include a Loss of Rent claim in the same claim0 -
Dear PoppyHoppy
I am sorry to hear that you have been unhappy with your recent claims experience with Endsleigh. I am keen to resolve the issues you have encountered and would like the opportunity to discuss your claim with you. If you could please contact me using the details below that would be much appreciated.
Please let me know if I can be of any other assistance.
