12????? Wow...I've only got two, and they cover a patch the size of a double bed between them. During the summer I can supply most of my neighbourhood with more rhubarb than they actually really want, not to mention glut the school fair with rhubarb jam, lol. Are you planning on going into industrial rhubarb production?Val.0 -

Nikki I dream of your kind of self sufficiency. Your post has given me a boot in the bum to try harder. How do you get tomatos and salad produce at this time of year specially in this weather? I have a heated greenhouse and gave both a try in winter but salad leaves growth was very slow and poor and the toms didnt do at all. I was told it was a combination of the temps and too little light in winter. Any tips on how you get yours to ripen in January? I'll keep reading to see how it goes. Good luck.0 -

Loving your new thread NikkiAnother question...sorry! Any tips for growing chillis? I was given some free seeds at a restaurant (they give them out instead of free matches...) so I thought I'd give them a try. I'm a flat, so no warm space for mushrooms or outdoor space.. but I'd like to try something. Also I'm quite in love with Nigella's chilli jam recipe.

Oooh I'd love some tips on this too as I plant salads in the autumn but they are nowhere near ready until February.
Also, how many hens do you have Nicki to be getting 3 dozen eggs for bartering at this time of the year? My hens aren't laying at all in this weather.0
