Not sure, but on Kim and Aggie they used scrunched up newspaper and vinegar (!) on house windows so that they weren't smeared. You never know, it might work.

I don't think you even need the vinegar. Ive cleaned windows using newspaper and just made it a bit damp with water. Cleans windows great!

If you are talking about cleaning the outside - toothpaste !

Ordinary cheapo white toothpaste (not the jel type) on a wet cloth.

Do you mean the stuff to put in the winscreen wash reservior that squirts it on as you drive along? I just use plain water in the summer, but you have to have the stuff with antifreeze added in the winter, otherwise it would just freeze onto the windscreen.
Must try moonrakerz toothpaste idea though.

    Do NOT use washing-up liquid.

Because washing up liquid promotes rusting when it gets on your paintwork. Therefore you should never use it to wash your car either. For cleaning the windows inside and out use a spray of 50% water and 50% white vinegar. Wipe off with either newspaper or microfibre cloth.
