I've found £21 !

I recently registered with Experian, and upon reading through the various credit accounts, active and settled, I noticed an entry for the Co-operative bank, with a balance outstanding of £21CR.

I had a credit card account with them which I paid off and thought I'd closed about 10 years ago. So it looks like I overpaid them by £21 which explains why the account still shows up on my credit report.

So, do you think it would be too cheeky to ask them to return the money - with interest...? :p

    Refund yes... interest no!
    Just my opinion of course!

Well... your question was "too cheeky to ask"... never hurts to ask, does it!
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

Thanks...it is a bit cheeky. My thinking was that if they're holding on to my money (albeit only a few quid) they should have refunded it years ago.

I wonder how much interest and charges would have mounted up for me if the boot had been on the other foot....!

Ask them for some interest!. They have "forgotten" to return the money. Had you "forgotton" to pay your credit card bill for 10 years you would be being charged a nasty double percentage APR along with hefty default fees sprinkled on top.

Personally I find it disgusting they haven't returned it to you. They have your name and address and possibly other details but aren't courteous enough to return it to you. So much for the Co-op's "ethical banking"

As you've said, boot on the other foot I bet they'd waste no time sending in the Bailiffs!.

Still waiting for me money back...! They told me twice now they would pay it into my bank a/c.

It always sticks in my throat how financial institutions are so slow to pay and yet so quick to receive!
Like I said before, if it was me owing them £20 they would have pestered me to death, 'black listed' me and it would be a substantial debt by now.
