Re-opening A&L Premier Direct by upgrade

Right, well, I've upgraded my current account to Premier Direct after downgrading 3 months ago. I've received the letter and to conmfirm and I've just phoned up and the lady from A&L confirms I shall get the 6% for one year (but not the overdraft usage fee waived) can anyone else confirm this has worked for them?
