PLEASE HELP Merging Airmiles Accounts?!!!!!!

Hello,

I have just sold my Airmiles account on ebay, so that the buyer can merge the account with heir own. Now there are plenty of people on ebay doing this so there must be a way. BUT the buyer says he can't as both accounts must be under the exact same name and address!

I would be very grateful if anyone knows how to do this as I'll have to offer a refund otherwise and will lose about a £15 on paypal/ebay fees

What do Airmiles say about this?

I think it is probably against the rules.

I say more fool you for offering them and him buying them.

My husband and I wanted to merge accounts and couldn't do it.
However we could spend on one item from two accounts.

I think you will have to refund and think you should research first before selling.
If you REFUND through paypal then I think you'll both get your fees back.
Do NOT make a payment, make sure you do a refund.

How do I merge my account with another AIR MILES® Collector?

Answer:

To merge your account with another collector, you must complete a Merge Account Form and mail or fax it with supporting documentation to the AIR MILES Service Centre.

Please be aware that merging your account with another Collector is acceptable only under the following circumstances:

Death of the Primary Collector
Lifestyle Change (marriage, common-law, divorce, family in same household)
Legal name change of Primary Collector

Electronically held air miles are not transferable and despite lots of people selling their account details on ebay saying you can easily merge them I have yet to find anyone who can tell me how they would actually do it, as the name and title on the accounts have to be identical.

Check for yourself on the Airmiles website.

Go to the help tab and then choose Help Topic Account Maintenance and Sub Topic Merge Account......it shows the following

Q: How do I merge my accounts?
A: If you have more than one AIRMILES account in your name you can merge these together by clicking on the 'My Account' tab at the top of the home page followed by 'Merge Accounts' in the left-hand menu. In order to merge two accounts the following criteria must be met:

Names and titles of the accounts must be identical

Accounts must be registered to the exact same address

So unless your name and title are the same as the sellers you cannot merge. And just in case you thought you could just change the name on the account - you need to supply a marriage certificate or deed poll or decree absolute. ( and once u use them for a flight or car hire, how will you produce a valid passport in the other name !! ) Airmiles spent in one name - flight tickets booked in another !!

YOU CAN check check on their website by changing the Sub Topic to Change Account Details.

My son and I recently merged our airmiles but it had to be done by telephone, not online. My son added his miles to my account so that I could use them to take a trip (which I've since done) and it was very easy. We both have the same surname but live at different addresses. Airmiles rang my son and he had to verify his details i.e. a/c number, online password etc etc. It was very simple and took just two phone calls.

PLEASE HELP Merging Airmiles Accounts?!!!!!!
