Recently my Dad passed away and I realised how things can be and have decided I would like to provide for my kids just incase anything might happen to me BUT I have no idea about anything like this.
I have 6 kids and currently have no insurance/assurance and have been looking around this site yet I still dont really understand!:o
What would be best do u think? my youngest is only 18 months old and my eldest is 14.
Any advice would be most greatly appreciated.

Hi there
I don't work in that part of the industry and would not want to give you advice. All I can do is say that if I were in your situation, I would start by looking at the following website:
http://www.findanadviser.org/find_an_adviser.aspx
It's a site that is sponsored by the Personal Finance Society; an organisation that is linked to the Chartered Insurance Institute. I hope it's of some help to you.In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
Please can people offer me any advice?

So sorry to hear about your dad. It's often emotive times like this that make you stop and think, whilst you're in a daze of grief.
You need to see/speak to a financial adviser who can discuss your options and find out what cover & how much cover you'd like/need.
Please don't take any advice off these forums, from Joe & Joleen Blogs as they are riddled with conflicting and often alarmingly incorrect opinions/advice, worse than you hear in the pub!!! At least in the pub you're more likely to forget the drival spat at you.

What I did was see a financial adviser and he got me a cheaper insurance at a higher rate pay out, cause when I tried myself they all wanted more money from me due to high blood pressure. But he got it knocked down at least a tenner a month for more money pay out. The finance person I saw was very helpful and he gave me various options and then I chose the appropriate one for myself. you could do a search online for finance advisors in your area, or try the citizens advice centre who may know as well if you have one near to you. Some banks even do life insurances now as well. Ask see if your bank you are with do this and what their rates are as well. Legal and General I am with do life insurance and others.0
