I have gone through the claiming process, using the templates, for Credit Card charges on my A&L account. They made me an offer which was not acceptable so I warned them I would accept a settlement less interest for a quick resolution or I would take them to court. They didn't reply so I started the claim. They acknowledged my claim which gave them an extra 14 days but a couple of days later they have sent payment including interest to the full ammount. The question is what do I do now?My claim is still registered which cost £60.Should I contact the court to cancel my claim?Am I ok to cash the cheques?

You write to the bank and state that you are owed £60 as you have now had to file a claim prior to them repaying the amount owed and unless it is paid the claim continues for the cost of filing.bobberding wrote: »I have gone through the claiming process, using the templates, for Credit Card charges on my A&L account. The question is what do I do now?My claim is still registered which cost £60.Should I contact the court to cancel my claim?Am I ok to cash the cheques?0 -
If the cheque is only for your charges + interest, write to A&L and say you accept as an interim payment, but you will not discontinue the claim until you recieve the court costs. If it does include court costs, write a brief letter to the Clerk of the Court :bobberding wrote: »My claim is still registered which cost £60.Should I contact the court to cancel my claim? The Court Manager

Dear Sir/Madam
[you] -v- The bank Plc
Claim Number: ********
I wish to inform the court that the claim as detailed above, in which I am the Claimant, has now been settled.
The Defendant paid the full amount claimed, namely £***, by way of a cheque/credit to my bank account on [date]. As such, no further action is necessary in respect of this claim.
Please accept my sincere apologies for the waste of the courts valuable time spent processing and managing this claim. I do wish to inform the court however, that the decision to enter into this litigation was not taken lightly, and that ample opportunity was given to the Defendant to resolve this matter by way of negotiation before proceeding with this claim. Regretfully, all attempts at meaningful dialogue were either rebutted or ignored.
A copy of this letter has been sent to the Defendant.
Yours faithfully
