APD Refund?

Hi I'm new here, hope this is in the right forum.
We have flights booked with EasyJet in the next couple of weeks which we will be unable to use as my wife will be having a shoulder op & won't be able to travel.
We won't of course be able to claim any refund on the fare itself, but whilst browsing Easy Jet's Terms & Conditions I noticed a reference to the right to a refund of Airport Passenger Duty (APD) that as a consequence of our not flying the airline do not have to pay.
Has anyone come across this before and/or any advice as to how to claim?
Many Thanks
Bernie

I reclaimed without problems. Ring 0871 244 2366 or the saynoto870 equivalent. They refund to the card which you made the booking on inside 5 working days. If you have travel insurance you might be covered for the full fare, not just the APD.

Thanks for that. The price of the flights are pretty much covered by the Excess on the Travel Insurance so it's not worth claiming; is the 0871 no. you quoted an EasyJet no.? And what is the "saynoto 870" equivalent?
    Thanks again

The say no to 0870 equivlent is refering to this site HERE just type in the 0870 number or the compnays name and see if there is a geographical alternative that will either be cheaper or free depending on you persona call package.
  • Belated thanks for the advice- a couple of emails to EasyJet & a refund of APD is on the way. They even agreed to process it before we were due to fly as long as I formally confirmed we wouldn't be taking up the booking
