Zookeeper for a Day

My wife loves all types of animals and I am looking for an unusual birthday present for her for a Big Birthday next year.
I spotted London Zoo's Keeper for a Day offer at:
http://www.zsl.org/shop/keeper-for-a-day/keeper-for-a-day/
and thought it was just what was needed.
I wondered whether anyone else had been on this day out and, if so, what did they think of it.
Hoping to hear from someone ........

Ive often thought about doing this for my other half, but never actually had the money - as im sure you know its very expensive.
2 things i'd consider are that, one the day will only be for you wife, you cannot go along to - presumably you can still pay to get into the zoo as a normal customer, but you wont be able to be with your wife - if that makes sense!
And 2, this always books up really, really quickly (especially the London Zoo one) so you need to book very early to even guarentee getting a place next year at all. I know this, as once did have the money and it was booked up by early february for the whole of the rest of the year!0 -
David,
Don't know where you are based but the Cotswold Wildlife park does the same thing. A friend of mine did it & said it was amazing. You get 1 extra adult entry to the park too (although as Loulou said you do not get to spend time together - but yu do get to see them so you can take photo's etc). My friend had a brilliant time....I am going to book up for 2010 for me (well OH will get it as a present for my last birthday)0 -
Hello!
I did this last year at colchester zoo and it was brilliant! I love animals and it was by far the best present i've ever had! It is expensive but its honestly worth it! I was smiling for days after!!!!

I did Colchester too, several years ago. We made a family holiday and booked a holiday in our favourite caravan site on Mersea Island. Then I b*ggered off for the day to mess around with lemurs, chimps, and elephants. Got to hand feed the elephants, and hide food for the lenurs who were quite happy to run around in the enclosure with us.
I was lucky, you are normally part of a small group, but the only other person booked on my group didn't show up, so I had the whole experience to my self. It was great. I'd love to do it again. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0
