SB: Options for diverting BT business line?

Normally I would ask the relevent firm this, but BT are so utterly hopeless I will try my luck here. (Last time I made a general enquiry with BT, I ended up getting disconnected).
Basically I am soon to be moving premises. I am unable to take my present number with me as I am moving to a different exchange (same area code however). I would like my old number diverting to my new one, or at the very least a recorded message informing of the new number.
What options are available to me? I don't want to pay ridiculous sums just for the privilige of diverting, which I have a feeling BT probably charge.

You could try and transfer the number to voip number and then setup a voicemail to say here is the new number, this would be cheaper way or using a sip provider then you could have a ip phone setup to take calls and then tell the customer the new number.
Id suggest sip gate
Look at this: https://secure.sipgate.co.uk/faq/index.php?do=displayArticle&article=13&id=225Kind Regards

You could port the number to someone like these people, http://www.callsure07050.co.uk/porting_phone_and_fax_numbers.html
and then divert it to your new number.
Another option is to port it to o2 as a mobile landline. http://www.o2.co.uk/sme/businessservices/mobilelandline/pricing0 -
BT do two options, a recorded message and complete divert. The first isn't too expensive but the call diversion is incredible expensive. I was given prices depending on my package at the time, so if you do go with BT try to get a 'better than advertised' price.
I'd certainly look at other options.0
