Free Petrol Leaf Blower

Freebie with a difference here so it'll probably get kicked off:(.

Yesterday I recieved a FREE McCulloch 370bv Petrol Leaf Blower/Vacuum for the garden.

Three weeks ago I got a perfectly good working Panasonic Stereo System complete with remote control.

Over the years I have picked up many hundreds of pounds worth of 'Goodies' from the same source.

How??

Just make a point of recycling your rubbish at the local tip. Have a good look in the 'Metal' skip and see what idiots throw away. Perfectly saleable, often unused items are thrown away on a daily basis.

Perhaps other 'freebie hunters' would like to share with us all, their finds so far?

Happy hunting;)

My father in law has been doing this for years. We nickname him 'stig'. It is unbelievable what people chuck out. We have had dinner sets (brand new) still in the boxes. One day he returned with not one, but three lawnmowers. He kept the best one for himself and me and my sister in law had the others. One was in perfect condition, mine just needed a plug fitted on it and the other one worked after a minor repair and 60p part!
I think we are in a disposable society and if something breaks, a lot of people, just buy a replacement than bother about repairs.
Also I am inclined to believe that when elderly relatives pass away who still have their own house, a lot of people do not have the time/inclination to do a proper clear out so lots of stuff in sheds etc are just taken to the tip rather than tested and passed on to others.
There's no such thing as a free lunch but there seems to be no shortage of free tea....
  • I totally agree joelle. If something dont work, we just go out a buy a new one, rather than fix

Another top tip is slightly dishonest but with no losers.

I have been buying a bit of property to 'Do up' and very often find that property is often sold with 'JUNK' in the shed or in the loft. Etc. More often than not it's a probate sale (dilapidated property).

Inspecting property, for me at least, also includes a quick rummage through what is not wanted.

I Started my collection of silver thimbles through a find I made in a loft. 7 Silver thimbles including 3 victorian childs thimbles.

My latest find was a diamond pin with a scrap value of £50 - £70.

Not really stealing, I think you'll agree. A lot of people wouldn't go through someone elses junk. It would just end up 'Down the tip'!
