Find your files (maybe all in My Documents), copy to a DVD, or USB Memory stick. (You can't copy applications over like Microsoft Office, you'll need to install these from the CDs they were provided on).

Put in new PC, copy back over in the same place.

    Done.

Buy a free standing hard drive, copy to that, then from that to your new PC.

THEN - use the new hard drive to back up your important stuff as you use your new PC.
