Will MSE ever be able to write an 'editorial' on Ryanair without being sensationalist and completely biased?

The 'news story' bleats on about the price rises, but gives only one line to the fact that you can potentially fly for 1p.

A balanced article would give much more credibility to MSE as a source of financial/ moneysaving news.

After spending the last week flying with some of the low cost carriers in the states, makes you realise that ryanair wouldn't last 10 minutes over there. These are airlines that manage to cut costs to the bone while plying for each others passengers, but also treat you like a human. All of them offer free check-in (whether on line or at the airport) you can carry just about anything you like on board within reason at no charge, and they even offer free soft drinks and cheap eats, some even give you pretzels and peanuts. I am afraid that we get what we deserve in this country, let a company get away with what they like and still fly with them, and whats the adage, give them an inch and they will take a mile?
You can say what you like about being able to fly cheap if you play the game, I don't want to have to play a game. Further more, these 1p flights are a loss leader, very few are available compared to the number of flights they run. Ryainair were forced to take down a bill board advert pro-porting to offer 1,000's of 1p flights when they failed to prove that these flights were available to the advertising authorities.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

The 1p flights will very rarely take you where and when you want to go. It's a waste of time flying midweek in November or January to the middle of nowhere just because the flight is dirt cheap.

Plenty of flights to Polish destinations for 1p, which most definitely aren't in the middle of nowhere - in fact, I believe only Szczecin is located more than 10 miles from the city centre of where they fly to.

In fact, the article makes no mention of the fact that Ryanair now offer a 30kg allowance for cheaper than Easyjet.

And all of the charges mentioned are avoidable anyway.
    From Poland...with love.

    They are (they're)
    sitting on the floor.
    Their
books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.

Perhaps he should start charging extra for passengers who sound like a cartoon Leprechaun.....

...then he could make even more money from himself.

But money savers search out the promotional fares, which can be an absolute bargain and include free online check-in which doesn't go up 250%.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.
  • Here we go again.

I've flown with Ryanair to Belfast for 1p, Dublin for £10, Rome for £20, Krakow for £5(twice), Berlin for £20 and Prague for £5.

I've also booked some FREE flights to Stockholm and Olso, Norway.

I pack loads into my hand luggage including:
Dell 17'' laptop, HD Camcorder, Camera, Mobile Phone, Travel adapters, t-shirts, boxers, socks, shaver, toothbrush and lots of other stuff.

I've saved LOADS of money using Ryanair
  • Plenty of flights to Polish destinations for 1p

But still - "where and when you want to go"?

Sounds grim as you like to me......
