this is a good point, esp if running XP, but you maybe will see a small improvement with Vista. You'd notice a bigger difference by giving it a good old spring-clean using CCleaner, disk cleanup (remember to also clean out the backup/shadow copies, will save you GBs of disk space) and defraggler more likely, and stopping all those unneeded programs from running on start-up :)
    hiya

i have vista on the machine and i do use cc, disc cleanup and defrag the machine once every two weeks, but how do i do a clean up backup/shadow copies?

go to computer, rigt-click your hard drive, select properties, click disk cleanup, and in the more options tab of the disk cleanup, click to delete shadow/backup copies :)

oh, and if you'v nverdone this before, jut check how much disk space it'll save you, and also it'll make your defrags more productive ;)

p.s. excuse the spelling, not used to typing on this lappy ;)
