give us a few basic details about your PC

I assume windows XP

what firewall

what anti virus

which model router is it ?

Albertross seems better about this sort of stuff, no online at the moment but he will be around later i expect

It is xp sp2,
avast antivirus,
zone alarm firewall (free home edition),
netgear dg834g v2 wireless router

try disabling Zonelarm for a second, right click on the little icon on the bottom right of you screen

Thanks for all your suggestions. I went out today and turned it off for a few hours, when I turned it back on everything was back to normal!
