Hello,
I am sure if i did some heavy reading i could find the answers i am looking for burries in these forums but i was hoping there is someone clued up who could give me quick and correct answers. Would be real appreciated!!
I do not have an Airmiles account but would like to open one to collect them. My Mum has one but stopped collecting them sometime. She has a letter saying she has 1250 that will expire end of Oct2009 if no activity occurs on her account before then.
My questioss are:
1) Is there away i can open an account for myself and get her points or change her account to include me(same address)
2) Is 1250 worth bothering about or does it not really have much value
All help/advice here would be great. Also, is there a site, forum or something with tips on the best way to collect airmiles??
Thanks again

750 airmiles can be used for a free return flight to Paris. She only needs a transaction on the account to keep it active - so for example could convert Tesco clubcard vouchers or buy something through Airmiles shopping.0

I am the person who would want to use the airmiles. My mother has no flying plans for the foreseeable future and is happy for me to have them. Is there away i can take them over/use them??
Thanks0 -
Can't she buy a ticket for you in your name?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

Q: What if I’ve been collecting on my partner’s account?
A: You can set up a Household Account with anyone in your home - this lets you merge your accounts, pool your miles and collect miles together. Find out how in the My account section at airmiles.co.uk
Q: What can I use my Airmiles for?
A: When you’re collecting miles, you can use them for completely free flights with leading airlines like British Airways. And that includes all airline taxes, fees and surcharges. And for hotels, cruises, holidays with leading travel companies, Eurostar, ferries and car hire.
And if you don't want to travel abroad, we have UK hotels, experiences like spa days, driving activities and theatre tickets, and even English Heritage membership. The choices are endless - find out more at airmiles.co.uk/spendmiles0 -
She can book a ticket for someone else. If she has Tesco vouchers in her name she could convert around £10.50 to take the total to 1,500 airmiles. You could then get a Lloyds TSB airmiles credit card (check airmiles website for T&Cs) and get free 1,500 miles to spend by a set date if you book one nights hotel. Your Mum could then book one flight and you the other - and you'd have a trip for 2 to somewhere like Spain or Italy including tax!!! Hope that made some sense. If I were you I'd check out the airmiles website0

Thanks....
Household account seems the way forward. However, does the main person have to travel? The above sounds good but i dont want my Mum to go :-D.... This two person trip for eg mentioned above i would use for me + a guest.
Thanks for all the advice...0 -
Also.....
No internet login details etc linked to the account. My mum just has her membership number etc and that it is. How can we get her account online and under or linked to my name??0 -

Just looking for the answer to this now!! I know we can merge accounts but im wondering what happens with this. Can flights be booked in different names?0 -
You can open a new account on the website, then (as long as you and your mum ae registered a the same address) merge the accounts into a Household account. This SHOULD be enough "activity" on your mum's account to stop her losing her miles, but just to be on the safe side, you should buy something from the Airmiles eStore.
If your mum has her membership number, just go to the website, click register, then choose the option that says something like "Register my account for online use". That will give her a username and password to access her account online, then you can go into the eStore and buy something from there to ensure her account stays alive.0
