oh dear - you are really are a reprobate aren't you...
I am genuinely concerned about the amount of time you and your many aliases, and thanking buddies spend on here. It can't be good for your state of mind. I think that may be why you come across as a bit confused and obsessive.0 -
you didn't i did
i'm awake old chap... i'm awake... i'm questioning the fact that you said only fall; they could stay flat or end up flat YOY...
i thought is was when they started to creep over 10% when it would have an impact on house prices
don't forget that these past increases will be pulled back over the next 9 months and we may end up level - just my opinion of course...
i preferred your last post it explained your view better.
the other came across as unemployment exclusively affects home owners and in turn dropping house prices which obviously isn't the case.
You may be very happy with a few monthly rises, but that does not mean with another million unemployed by end of 2010, that house prices will still be rising.
I should think that 3.5 million or 3.8 million as some report should be OVER 10% as when the statistics were printed in March 2009 there were 29.379 million employed.
With regards to chances of house prices dropping if unemployment goes up so much then IMO it is likely that some people losing their jobs may not be able to keep up repayments. As I said our opinions may differ so no probs they may go up or down or stay the same, my money has been made on the US housing market dropping.
I just couldn't put money into buying a house in the UK while I think the risks of further fall are there, just my opinion not every investment gamble has turned out right for me but I have done quite well out of them over the years.0 -
Now, now Chucky - be nice to MoneySavers.

mewbie,

i agreed with your previous post except for interest rates being at low levgels - once they move up unemployment will be much more of an impact.
apologies you'll have to ignore Mewbie - tries to go round undermining other posters and trying to be popular. after 4,000 odd posts we're still waiting for something interesting or remotely related to the economy...
ps. i've no need for another user name - i can say everything i need to say with this one...0 -

As for saying everything you need to say. It seems to be the same thing, endlessly repeated. Now I can't understand why, if someone is happy and content, they feel the need to be on MSE 24/7 arguing over tiny details. Surely if life is good, and you are happy with your investments then you should be making the most of it?

If other economic factors push the MPC into seriously raising rates then the whole story may unfold. But there are also conflicting estimates from analysts on how long the low rates can be held so I'll hold off a prediction on that one.
Have a good day Chucky and leave Mewbie alone, there's more than one wind-up merchant on these boards;)0 -
Aww Chucky, leave our Mewbie alone....he brightens up my day.:D
I'm another one that doesn't really post anything of interest, I just live in the dark ages of the last recession and the impact it had on my life.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
