Cool, the 3.75% e-saver I took out last year with Natwest is expiring soon and dropping to 1.5% so might take that up.

I am looking for a regular saver and from info gained from various threads on here the West Bromwich regular saver pays 6% variable (5% fixed) for deposits £20 to £600 a month. You can also miss one payment and make one withdrawal penalty free in a year. It is only in branch and not online, so you can beat this Natwest/RBS offer if you can get to a WB branch.

Try a different branch, who may be a bit "sleepy" and try sweet talking them.

It is not on the website, it is only in the branch. But reading a couple of posts it seems you would be too late now because they withdraw the account yesterday.
