Hi guys.

Strange one. Totally legit reasons for asking. Will go into later. Two things I need to know.

1) Is it possible for a user of a website forum to pick up the IP Address of a poster of a website forum on that website or would that only be achievable by the owner or server operator?

2) What is the best way to track down the user of a mobile number?

    1) you need to be the admin or a moderator to be able to view IP addresses, I suppose you could ask one of them.

    2) The only legal was is to ask them (seriously some people will tell anyone anything) or I suppose if they are careless enough to leave a lot of personal info on socal networking sites etc.

    Would rather track down the mobile number without calling it.

    It may be a police thing on Monday.

    I think its some twit person who manages a "social" networking site but because of the contents of the text it maybe someone more sinister.

    What a load of nonsense......

    IP address tracking cannot be done without security clearance or a court order to the ISP that owns that IP address.

    Tracking a mobile number.... easiest way is to have a friend call said number with some great believable story.

    The paranoia I'm referring to is the assumption everything in your life is related; mobile texts, spam etc...

    Im confused by this whole thing...... In the big scheme of things, It simply does not matter, life goes on..... Some people are just weird and slightly unstable, don't engage them over it, that's all the gratification they need, just leave them to it.
