Advice on removing/moving/adding internal walls

I'm looking into whether I should makes some changes to the walls in my house but I'm not sure what to do because there are so many options.

Here is a rough layout of my house (hope this works!):

The idea is to make more practical use of the space between the lounge and the kitchen. At the moment, there's an awkward space between them (labelled A) that you can't use for anything. Same goes for the hallway just before you come into the lounge (labelled B).

The kitchen also has a doorway around it (with no door) which just takes up space. I'm sure this should be removed at least.

Options that I've considered:

1. Remove the wall between A and B and put the door on the left of B. Gives a bigger lounge (and room for a dining table!) and/or the kitchen can be extended out. Having the kitchen extending out into A might look funny though.

2. Put a door between A and B, and wall off the kitchen from the lounge. Having the extra wall in the lounge and kitchen is more practical (you can put things along it) and the kitchen can be extended into the extra space. Con: Kitchen with no natural light and the lounge might look smaller.

3. Same as 2, except knock a doorway from the kitchen to the bedroom. The bedroom and lounge function are then swapped. I've been told the bedroom should really be at the back of the house anyway. Plus, the room at the bottom is much brighter.

4. Just remove the wall between the kitchen and lounge and extend the kitchen out into the space.

I'm having new radiators put in so I really need to decide what I'm doing within a few weeks. It's giving me a head ache!

Can anyone give any advice? Obviously, I wouldn't want to hurt the value of the house and it would be nice if one option was clearly the best in terms of resale value. Is there any professional I can get that could advise on the best options? The builders and planners I've spoke to don't give that kind of advice.
