Seller slow at sending, then I get a generic email from eBay

Ok, here goes.
I bought a MacBook from eBay on Sunday evening. (£490 plus £15 postage)
Anyway, after bidding I noticed the seller has a history of slow despatch so I sent him an email, asking when it would be sent, or if I could collect
He replied and said..
"Due to my job i cannot garantee that I am around that time but i will post the item tomorrow/thursday the most"
I take it his job does not involve anything to do with grammar, seriously though, it's annoying. If I had £500 of someones money I'd make a special effort to get it sent. I wasn't overly bothered to be honest, I'd got a good deal on it.
But today I got an email pasted below to show what was said. Even more worringly, the page on ebay says invalid item, and the seller is no longer registered on eBay.

People sometimes misuse eBay accounts by sending emails from them. In these emails, they invite you to buy or sell outside eBay, or ask questions that have nothing to do with eBay. They do this in the hope that you'll respond and give them your email address.
We strongly recommend you treat emails from this member with caution and don't respond if you hear from them again.
Tips for safe trading on eBay
Always complete your purchases on the eBay website - it's the safest way to trade with other eBay members. Always make sure that your user ID is listed as the winning bidder on the 'Item ended' page before sending money for a purchase.
If someone asks you to buy or sell an item outside eBay, we strongly recommend you ignore their request and report it to us. If you buy or sell outside eBay, you won't be protected by our Feedback system and protection services.
Keeping eBay a safe and reputable place to buy and sell is our top priority. To find out more about buying safely on eBay, open a new window on your browser and copy these links into it:

If you've sent payment for an item but not received it, please let us know. You can contact us from any eBay Help page.
As always, if you have any questions, please get in touch.

I assume you paid by paypal, so just follow the instructions that ebay give and let them know you have paid and then phone paypal and insist they allow you to start a reclaim of payment.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I am on eBay live chat now, have also contacted the seller asking for their side of the story. Which turned out to be totally useless, the virtual agent that is.
Is there a time limit on this, should I action the Paypal claim right away, or wait for the "seller" to get back to me?Wycombe Till I Die0 -

Their last seller feedback was a negative for a broken Mac, I'm sure that would have put off many buyers.
They have also recently sold other Macs..personally ebay must have suspended them for a reason so try and reclaim your money now.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Right, have done so, am annoyed but the main thing is, will I get my money back. Paypal said it may take up to 30 days, heard nothing from ebay or the seller, but I have said that I will happily end the dispute if the laptop arrives and all is good (taking into consideration that he may already have sent when his account was kicked off of eBay)Wycombe Till I Die0

Thanks TD, all this hassle has tarnished my eBay experience to be honest, been with them 7 years now, though I don't suppose there is much they can do.
I have emailed them and waiting for them, the seller or Paypal to get back to me.
The only thing I am concerened with TBH, is what happens if the seller does not have the funds in his account, I've heard horror stories of buyers only getting part refunds or worse still, nothing, as the seller has done a moonlight flit (IE taken all the money out of their account)Wycombe Till I Die0 -
AS this was an ebay purchase you are fully covered even if seller has no funds available.
Personally I think if anyhting does arrive it is going to be a lower spec Mac with problems. That last neg worries me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ok I'm going to sound like a broken record.... But why on earth would you spend that kind of money with a seller with low feedback and a neg for the item you bought ?0
