eSure - Careful Drivers - Not Quite True

Options
In June 2003 - I was minding my own business sitting stationary when a car decided to hit me up the backside - all damage / costs were recovered from the 3rd party's insurance so no cost to me.

Just tried to get a quote from eSure (via the website) and as soon as I submit details of the accident - Including marking it a Non fault claim - the site refuses to quote. (NB: The same applies on the Halifax and First Alternative sites)...

When I phoned up eSure I asked the guy straight out whether they would quote me considering I had been hit by a third party with full recovery of costs and they said NO - at that point I told the agent (nicely) that it's not worth me wasting his or my time.

Whilst I appreciate they only want "careful drivers" they seem to be penalising people like me who have been an innocent party.......perhaps a scenario for the Advertising Standards ????
What should I put in here that won't upset people.........

yeh this frsutrates me as well.....also one broker sent me a rather unfriendly letter asking me to explain why i hadnt declared 2 minor claims.....one didnt exists and the other was a windscreen claim!

They said that the insurer could no longer insure me.....but they had found another insurer who would...at 30% more....advised the broker that as i had done nothing wrong they were breaching our contract and they had to pay the difference...which they did...so it ended well...although i had to kick up a stink....i didnt renew with them the following year though!

i think it was an excuse as they had made a mistake...the car was fairly moderately modfied (which i had declared in writing)

I always find it amusing - why do car insurance companies ask you if another company has declined to insure you? another excuse to load you for potentially no fault otherthan owning the wrong car (some companies get confused when you mention the word modified!)

Another thing is that I am paying for a claim twice.....my car was broken into.....yet not only is my insurance loaded but so is my wifes! - outrageous

insurance companies are crooks and they wonder why there are so many uninsured cars out there...just seen the qutes for my niece who has just passed he test and is 18...a ford escort 1.1 H reg is £700-1600......wha??????

fair enought she is a high risk like any new driver...700 isnt too bad but 1600 is criminal

i have found that for insuring both of our cars at home, despite we both have mor ethan 6 yrs no claims that esure is competitive for insurance quotes.

Screen trade has been the best for us so far.
