The link's working now. But why don't these posts give you a brief summary of what the item's about, to save you clicking on a link (which may or may not work) and reading a long article, the contents of which you may well already be aware of?

Get your act together, MSE! Just a link and a headline isn't a very professional way of introducing a subject for discussion.

The news isn't at all surprising, and to be honest it does make sense for Nationwide to limit their Flexaccount to genuine current account users, as the perks are significant. I have to say that, if I didn't already have one, I would probably have to move my current account to get one.

As Biggles has pointed out that is not a good way to post a story.

In addition many on this board have been discussing exactly what the topic covers plus the non-existent or very limited faster payment service the flexaccount has.

Maybe next time instead of starting a new thread you can link to an existing thread on the topic as this topic was only discussed a few days ago.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)

The article also says that the Nationwide Flex account has free ATM withdrawals worldwide, this is no longer the case it still provides free withdrawals for EU countries but no longer covers others e.g. India, Nepal, China, SE Asia, Australia. I am doing a worldwide tour in dec and would greatly appreciate it if anyone knew of any current accounts that do still allow for free withdrawals in Asia.

By "free" Nationwide mean that they do not charge, but the charge you see is the Visa charge that Nationwide passes on to you. In effect it is only 84p for every £100 spend, compared with £2.50-£3.5 charges that other banks charge, plus in many instances a flat rate withdrawal fee as well.
