I ate at the Grand Lux at the Venetian last time I was in Vegas, its the big brother of the Cheesecake factory with less cheesecakes available. There was a small queue there on arrival for lunch at about 12.00 but they were turning the tables round very quickly, although I was eating alone there was no push to try to sit me at a bar (though i'm not sure there was one!!) I was sat at a table in the front so I could watch the world go buy while I was eating. I had the daily special soup for appetizer (I can't remember what it was, but i'm giuessing it must have been spicy) followed by the Sunday Night Pasta, both meals were gorgeous, the service fantastic and the food served promptly. One word of warning, to drink I had the Island Cooler, fantastically refreshing but looks like one of Del Boys drinks!!
Would definitely recommend this restaurant (and the other in Palazzo as well)

Stayed six nights at Venetian over Xmas, and had maybe four meals in the Grand Lux over the week.
Excellent food and service every time.
Most of the time only had a main course and a pudding. The only dish I had that I wouldnt recommend I think was the Slow Roasted Short Rib of Beef, which I was hoping would be like a Prime Rib, but was more like Braised Beef.
If you want the Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookies to eat there or take away, order them half an hour before you want them as they are baked to order.
PS If you get a table near the casino, the free wifi stretches there.....doesnt reach as far as the inner tables.illegitimi non carborundum0 -
I'm the exception here. We tried it a couple of years ago and didn't like it, but I think that's very unusual.
We both had steaks and they weren't great so we have never gone back. Should really give it another try.0 -
Only 3 words needed. "Chicken Pot Pie" Someone from the Vegas board has a photo of it, please post. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

One of my personal favourites in Vegas. Only been twice but very good meals both times and the prices are reasonable (quite cheap for what you actually get).
I like the Shaking Beef - Southeast Asian Inspired! Pieces of Beef Tenderloin, Red and Green Onions Sauteed with a Mildly Spicy Marinade. Served with Steamed White Rice. Yummm............0 -
One of our favorites, too though as with most places in Vegas, the portions are enormous. I really wanted to order some cookies to take away but knew better.
Have yet to have the chicken pot pie but plan to one day...when I plan to not eat for about 24 hours before and after.
Asian Nachos are fantastic...Crispy Fried Wontons Covered with Chicken in a Sweet-Hot Peanut Sauce. Topped with Wasabi Cream and Melted Cheese
Also of note:Jumbo Fried Shrimp
Served with Peanut Cole Slaw and French Fries
Grand Lux Burger Melt
On Grilled Parmesan Cheese Bread with Lots of Cheddar Cheese,
Grilled Onions and Thousand Island Dressing. Served with Fries
I didn't think that theCarolina B.B.Q. Pork Sandwich was all that special - it wasn't bad, but my least favorite thing I've tried there.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
I've been to Vegas four times so far since 2006 and having stayed at the Venetian three of those times, I have visited the Grand Lux quite a few times. I echo everyone else in saying that it is truly excellent.
On my last trip there were 24 of us and they accommodated us by pushing together tables and the service was excellent considering the size of our group. The food is all first class and very well priced and some of the cocktails you can get are great. I highly recommend the peach bellini!
The pasta dishes they serve are some of the best I have ever had and I would put that at the top of the must try list. For value vs quality, nothing comes close to the Lux in my opinion and you are much better off spending a little more here to enjoy fresh food than scrimp and go for a dodgy buffet somewhere.
(Honourable mention to Mirage's California Pizza Kitchen which is #2 in Vegas)0 -
I must say reading this is making my mouth water - will add it to the list of restaurants to try in May!!!0
