Hi there is a formula 1 hotel (which is very basic)and an Ibis in the centre facing the Albert dock. Dont know if that is any help. Where is the carling Academy?

Carling academy is near London Road, which in turn is near the Gladstone Hotel and Lord Nelson hotel. The Marriott is also close but will be far too expensive.

I stayed at the travelodge there and it was fine and close enough to everything and a short walk to the Albert Dock

I got it on the tenner deal, but standard price wouldn't be too bad.

I too stayed at the Travelodge on the Tennertastic deal and can confirm it is spot on and in a very convenient location in the city centre. Loads of places nearby where you can get some brekky too.

Yes, go for the Tavellodge, it's affordable and in a good spot.
If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in :D
  • HI. If you PM me I will forward your details to my daughter who lives and studies in L'pool and will certainly know whats good and cheap as opposed to just cheap. She is a money saver too but doesn't always check this site so if you want to make contact through me we'll help.

The travel lodge and formula 1 hotel are great value hotels .. but they are both on the other side of the city centre.. not sure if u would be happy walking across the city late at night after ur gig .. if u dont mind the walk defo try those.

use https://www.multimap.com .. to view the the locations of the hotels and the distance from the carling. .. ps enjoy the gig ..

    antrim hotel....

Myself and a few friends booked the Antrim Hotel as our coach trip was beginning and ending in Liverpool. We had planned to stay two nights, however, after the first night we realised that we were lucky not to have slipped on broken tiles, gone through the floor or indeed been assulted by one of the other inmates, sorry I mean guests. When we returned to Liverpool it was a toss up between staying in the Antrim or roughing it at the Airport and sorry to say the Airport was the much more attractive option (by far)even if the PA system was going off every ten minutes. We made the mistake to stay here, hopefully you won't. FROM TRIP ADVISOR

    was thinking cheap but liveable....

Britannia was a nice hotel and is now a bit scruffy but you can get a room for £45 single , the bed is comfy and the water is hot -nice big bath and it seems safe I stay quite a bit and right next to train station (lime st) and plenty takeaways-DONT eat in hotel but breakfast included and ok.

but id say travelodge as well and just walk -well if its cheaper
