im currently with bt for internet and phone line paying really high prices it seems so decided to terminate my contract. Im moving properties next sat. was contemplating in getting sky as they said they would install a new line for me free of charge i was looking into getting the bundle for 16.50 then free internet and calls. i gave the man from sky my postcode and they dont do the free internet in my area im moving to i would have to pay 17.50 for it. he was so pushy in trying to get me to just pay 16.50 for tv and phone plus my line rental . i declined this offer.
when i pick up the phone in my new house to dial out their is no dial tone and they're is all wires for virgin around.
im not sure what i need a new line fitting in and i really want the internet at a decent cheap price
does anyone know any deals which may intrest me and what to do about my phoneline as i cannot hear a dialing tone it it does it mean i will need a new line installed ?
i would be appreciated with any help as i am really stressing out about the move itself and cant be without the internet for long

How's your area for mobile broadband? Those dongles can work very well and if it's a contract you have 14 days to try it and if it's PAYG (ASDA, CPW, Maplin etc) they usually give you a couple of days to try it -but do ask.
It'll give you plenty of time to decide and at least you'll have the Internet.
See which providers can offer you their own ADSL: www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php
TalkTalk.co.uk may be a good option if they're in your area. O2 are excellent. Do you have a mobile?
You'll have to post more info.0 -

i have been looking on the virgin website at various packages. by the looks of things your better getting talk unlimited as that is all i would pay for the month unless i rang a mobile. i want broadband and tv aswell. talk unlimited seems to budge the price up alot but i need to think of the amount of phone calls ill be making a month and how i make most of my phone calls in the day to landlines
i was advised by someone on the internet to go for the talk unlimited cheapest broadband and tv package as i could get a Eurovox to get all the other channels for free, has anyone ever heard of one of these?0 -
Never seen any reason to go near Virgin. I think they are massively expensive and there'll be price increases to come.
O2 is a good deal if you have a mobile with them (I have a Simplicty SIM). Very good solid service. TT are the best if you are on a tight budget and not interested in adverts selling tat and stuff you don't want (BT ADSL and Virgin Media). Most of my relatives are on TT as it's a genuinely good deal.
If you want more TV you may have to go with Virgin as Sky aren't on your exchange for ADSL. Sky can still provide ADSL anyway (as you know) but it's very expensive as it's a BT product normally.
Depends on what you need, want and have to spend. Work out you £££s spending and work from that.0
