Bringing back booze from EU

Relatives are returning to the UK from Cyprus and bringing all their furniture etc. back in a storage container.

Does anyone know if they can bring back duty paid (in Cyprus) alcohol, ie wine and spirits (not cigs) for their own consumption, or is that method of transport importing, and illegal?

Anyone know?

I think (but am not 100% sure) that you have to accompany what you bring back - so a container would be out.

All goods need to be accompanied or you lose your goodies.

https://www.day-tripper.net it has the "recommended" amounts on there (Bear in mind they are guidelines and they sometimes allow you to bring more

It has a link to the amounts of fags and booze you can bring back from Europe on it and advice on it
