It means what it says:-
I wish my Trustees to employ as their Solicitors "name & address of solictors".
IF you need to use a solicitor then he wishes you to use the named solicitors................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -
But I'm not sure they (the solicitors) can hold you to that. It might be more convenient to use a firm more local to you, for example. Or you might feel you don't need solicitors at all: for a simple will, you may well not!Signature removed for peace of mind0

hi, thanks for your answers.
My main worry was that - I do not want my trustees to be forced to using a solicitor and paying their costs.
So does this word suggest that they must be used? Or can the trustee choose?
To be honest I'd rather my trustee decide their own solictor if one is needed!0 -
Your trustee can choose, but may be influenced by the wording and so use that solicitor. I assume it's the same solicitor that's writing the will for you. Just tell them to remove it. It's your will, it should read as you want it.0
-
I may tell them to remove it - thought it's a free will under will aid, so they may say I have to keep it!0

whoa.........it's the willwriter - you - who decides what goes into a will, not the solicitors. And aren't you making a donation to charity under the willaid scheme? If you are, it's not strictly speaking a free will, your solicitors have willingly agreed that their fee will go to charity..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
They are chancing their arms - trying to influence their firm to be used. Get it removed, the Trustees can decide if they need the services of a solicitor when the time comes.0

I remember being pretty uncomplimentary about that scheme.

Is the MSE team going to continue to promote Wills written through this scheme?
Dirty cheap trick! They haven't quite gone as far as naming themselves executors but well on the road towards that. Glad you questioned it,supermonkey.
It's about time people here realised that this profession isn't as snowy white ( or more importantly competent) as people think in this area.0 -
Solicitors commonly appoint themselves in Wills, that's how they can afford to subsidise the cost of writing them. In this case it seems it is merely the wish being expressed.
Don't get me started on tales of solicitors who have been appointed in Wills where the family don't want them to act.0 -

Due to various other threads on MSE and including some very helpful posts including some by yourself and LocalHeroe I was well aware of this!
The firm have actually been very helpful and they have changed wording as requested. I'm happy for it to read:
"I wish my Trustees to consider employing ......
