Google viewing problem. A quick query.

Please can someone help? I feel daft for not knowing how to solve this!

I think my partner must have fiddled with my pc last night - but denies it!

Google opens fine, but every time I click a link on a web page, the page opens, but only 3 inches of the page is visible across the top of my screen - its driving me mad!

Thanks!

What takes up the rest of the room?

  • Thanks for your reply, aliEnRIK.

The rest of the room is taken up by the original website that was on the screen, before I clicked the link within it.
  • Expand the page by either double clicking on the bar across the top or clicking the middle one of the three little boxes on the extreme right of the same bar.

To stop it happening again you need to adjust the first window (the one with Google in).
Assuming you're using Internet Explorer -
Close all other browser windows so you're just left with the first one. If you then click on it's 'Restore down' button - the midle of the three in the very top right of the window. The window will probably shrink down to that mini size you mentioned. Then resize this by dragging the edges to the size you want (I prefer to resize it till it fully fills the screen!). Then click the 'Maximise' button.
All new windows should open either full screen or whatever you resized to.

Thanks, but doing that only provides a temporary solution. It still happens every time I click on a link.
  • Thanks bluboy.

I'll let you know how I get on.
  • Fantastic! Worked a treat! Thanks!

I do feel daft for not knowing this! :embarasse

Still, I know what to do if it happens again (apparently, all by itself, according to my partner - the fibber)!

    Thanks again!

    You sound a happy bunny!

I would suggest however, that you run through a tutorial, several are available here . . . .
