Does Telediscount Work With Sky Talk?

Hello, I recieved a Sky offer in the post recently, they are offering me a free Sky+ box, free Sky Talk and free Sky Broadband with free installation, and I am really interested in this. But, my mum wants to keep BT (even though its very expensive) only for the purpose that she knows telediscount works on it, so I need to know whether telediscount works on Sky Talk package with no extra charges?

For those who don't know, Teledisount gives really cheap calls to international countries.

Telediscount access numbers can be dialled from Sky Talk Lines at the moment.

Are the intl destinations you call not included in the Sky Talk unlimited package,if they are this might be a better bet. http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skycom/skyproducts/skytalk/pricesandoptions/unlimited

Are you saying you CAN or CAN'T?

I checked the number "0844 462", it is in the "g9" charge-band. I checked with the tarrif guide, and the connection fee is "7 pence".

All chargeable calls on BT and Sky Talk attract a 7p connection fee - the per minute rates are additional to that (on BT, g9 rate calls are 2p/minute but I don't know what Sky charges).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Sky Talk charge exactly the same as BT to call G9 0844 numbers 2p a minute and 7p connection.

is BT better than Sky talk?

I read that the 0845 and 0870 numbers are more expensive, what is the significance of these numbers?

I've been paying 1p a minute to Telediscount to phone Australia ( which is brilliant), but now I've swopped to Sky talk, its free. Why would you still want to use Telediscount?

Free ? Dont you have to pay £60 a year for the bundle, and at least another £204 a year for Sky TV to qualify for the bundle.

If I pay BT line rental, and get Sky Talk (free evenings and weekends), I only pay the BT line rental and Sky for using their service, is this right. Or will BT be charging me a little extra?

Also, with that in mind, if we decide to cancel Sky after a year and go back to BT (still paying the BT line rental), will I have to pay a fee?

Last question, BT charges 7p extra for the first minute of a call like Sky, yes (just want to verify both charge 7p - BT doesn't say anything about this)?

If you just move (cps) your calls to Sky Talk and leave your line rental with BT your pay the normal rental to BT their is no line rental surcharge for moving your calls elsewhere. Also you will be able to return your calls to BT at anytime without paying a fee.

Both BT and Sky charge a 7p connection charge for chargeable calls.
