Hi,
Anywhere you can get a table of business deposit rates (for accounts where you don't need a business current account with the same institution).
Also is it possible for businesses to have accounts with National savings? That way you could have more than 50k guaranteed?
Cheers,
Chris

Have a look at http://www.moneyfacts.co.uk/business/bestbuys/default.aspx
I assume it is for a Limited Company and not you Trading As. I personally use Standard Life at the moment - both the 3 day and 10 day account.
Good luck :beer:0 -
Thats correct Ltd. Thanks for the link. Ironically Standard life didn't appear in there, even though they have better rates!
Now I have to check which of these are backed up by the british government...0 -
interestingly anglo irish appear in the table in this link
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/safe-savings
So thats means they are backed up by the UK Government and Irish Government? Presumably Irish Government first and if they default then the UK Goverment? (Maybe I should open a separate thread with this question?)
Cheers,

Anglo Irish Bank is EEA authorised, rather than FSA authorised, so deposits are covered by the Irish Government not the UK - see http://www.fsa.gov.uk/register/firmBasicDetails.do?sid=773460

Yes - I think the table and the section you outlined are contradictory. Its not a massive deal - just found it a bit confusing thats all...

Corngoat, I spotted the S/Life business savings accounts the other day, and am interested for OH who's a sole trader -- looking at their Bonus Savings Account.
I see they mention 3 days for transferring funds, and I think you have the notice accounts anyway, but I wondered if you had enquired if they intend to implement Faster Payments any time soon? If not (or unless anyone else knows?) I'll give them a call about this.
How do you operate your accounts... online or by telephone? Good service?
Thanks.~cottager0
